Hola!

So, it's past two o'clock in the morning here and I'm still awake. Why is that? Well, one big reason is that I have the day off tomorrow and so I don't really have to worry about when I sleep, and the other reason? I'm not sleepy. lol

One of my co-workers is on vacation this week, so I'm getting more hours than usual. Which I do not mind at all, as long as I have time to actually do something meaningful as well. Which is exactly what I plan to do tomorrow. I'll post here again tomorrow detailing what exactly that is.

It has been extremely hot here over the past few days, with temperatures in the mid-thirties, along with endless sun. I know a lot of people love that weather, but I'd personally prefer it to be cooler, with a light rain(or even a heavy one) occasionally. I love to sit out on the porch when it's raining like mad, protected from being soaked, while listening to the pitter-pattering of the water. It's also one of my favourite smells, that of fresh rainfall, haha. And it looks like I'll be getting my wish, with the next three days having rain forecasted! <3

I got a letter in the mail today from the Ontario government, with Urgent written in big red letters. It was of course them notifying me that I have to start paying back my student loan, which will consist of them taking $300 out of my bank account for the next ten years. Fun. Hopefully I'll get an awesome job/career and/or win the lottery/a game show somewhere in that time so I can pay it off earlier than expected. And here I thought I was a realist, where's all this optimism coming from? xD

I made a little sentence to help me remember the German articles: "Der Apfel des Kurt ist lecker, Ich gab dem hungrig Pferd den Apfel," that roughly translates to "The apple that is owned by Kurt is tasty, I gave to the hungry horse the apple." It's probably as awkward in German as it is in English, but sentence structure is not my focus for now. I never remember the names of various grammatical terms, such as nominative, genitive, etc. Instead, I just imagine a formless, unwritten idea about how it is used, and that sentence is helping me do so.

I haven't went through the news sites yet today, but I did browse the Ottawa Sun at work today, in which I found an article about Stephen Harper's new cat. The article specifically stated that he was a control freak, though he was willing to allow other people to name the kitty, by voting on his FaceBook page. Sadly though, that's the biggest decision the Canadian people will be able to make until 2015 now. Cute kitty, however, and too bad we couldn't name him Layton, XD.

I've watched some trailers for all the games being shown off at E3 this year, though the only ones I'm really interested in are Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and Mass Effect 3. I've seen some clips from the latter, and I am impressed. It also looks like we'll finally be getting our first glimpse of a female krogan character! =D

I'm nearly done season three of Supernatural now, which is noticeably shorter than the other ones. I assume this is because of the writers' strike in the U.S. a few years back. The last episode I watched was called Long Distance Call, dealing with this demon who used telephones and the internet to get to his victims. I think this is my favourite type of episode, wherein the monsters of centuries past are shown adapting to modern human society.

I haven't posted much from Japan or Korea lately, so here's one of my favourite BoA songs. I've played it repeatedly on a few occasions, including right now. XD

~ This sentence confused me for a while. I couldn't figure out why ANYONE would think of 30 degrees as hot. Then, I realized that's in Celsius not Fahrenheit. =_=

It's not much better here, actually. Right now, it's about 24 degrees which is nice. Then the sun rises, along with the humidity. It wasn't until last summer that I realized how awful it is when humid. How I missed that before, I don't know...

I agree with everything you said about the rain. The only way I can sleep is by listening to rain storms, (1) because it's a soothing sound and (2) it helps block Flint's ridiculous meowing.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that. I'm just programmed to speak in metric. XD

Oh yes, I love sleeping through a rainstorm. It's so calming, and the outdoors is fresh-smelling when you wake up. That's about the only part of the summer I miss whenever winter rolls along.

Ah, wasn't it just last month that you posted how cold (or was it rainy?) the weather was. Those were the good old days. Now it's quite warm! :)

And ouch. So much to pay back for your loans. :(

Ugh I dislike that the most about German. I can understand it even in the weird grammar, but I can never remember how to write the nomative, dative, etc correctly in a sentence. >.< Good luck working on it! I should relearn my German this summer...

Yes I did. This is the time of year where we get all different sorts of weather, until it finally settles into long, hot days in mid-July. =/

I thought I had it all down, but I forgot again. Thanks! Good luck to you as well.

I absolutely love it when it rains and lucky for me it rained the past two days. I'm not a fan of the summer time. There's going to be a new Legend of Zelda game? Here in the UK they've started advertising The Oricana of Time for the DS3D.

Yep, besides Ocarina of Time 3D, there'll be a new Wii game this winter/spring.

Wanna switch locations? It's freezing here and it's been raining all day.

Lol, BoA, I used to like her, found her tedious then I discovered Ayumi Hamasaki and the wonders of gorgeous/pretty boy bands (be still my heart)

Yes, please! I love rain, especially with freezing temperatures! Haha I must've been a duck in a past life. XD

Oh, I like Ayumi too! Some boy bands aren't to bad either, haha.

It's so cold even the dogs refuse to get out of bed in the morning haha. It was so nice and sunny last week too!

Ayumi is gorgeous, and so talented. I'm not into those boy bands any more, but they are fun to reminisce about and look at ^^ hehe

Let's switch! I haven't seen the sun in over a week, and it's so foggy that when I'm at work, I can't even see the hills across the harbour. I'd give anything for sun, let alone warm weather!

Also, I remember the cases in languages by reciting this line from Alice in Wonderland:

Mouse (nominative)
Mouse (accusative)
Of a Mouse (genitive)
To a Mouse (dative)
O, Mouse! (vocative)

Okay, let's switch! I love the kind of weather you're describing actually, though I still may be feeling grim after experiencing it for a week.

Oh, great way to remember! I may just steal that from you! =D

Oh student loans...

Luckily (or unluckily, depends how you look at it) I didn't qualify for government loans, so I had to go with a bank loan. I don't think they'll take auto-withdrawals from my account ever, as long as I continue to make my payments!

I hope you find an awesome job :)

Hey! Thanks, and glad your mate was amused. XD

Ah, lucky you. I was so hoping that it was going to rain today, but it just got more and more hot.

I thought I was alone on that too, actually. Nobody ever comments on the smell of fresh rainfall, but I love it. <3

Most people hate rain. Me, it depends. It's so nice in the evening. Feels so cold and relaxing listening to the raindrops outside. Even thunder makes me happy. But at daytime, it just makes me feel oh so lazy and bored. But I know one Korean friend who loves rain. Whenever it does, she drives her car anywhere then stops for a while and listens to its pitter patter.
I'm not really into Boa songs. Just reminds me that I have mistaken her for a Japanese way back in highschool (I think). I first saw her singing a Jap song anyway. :P

I didn't realize Ottawa could get that hot. It's rarely higher than 30 degrees. I thought last year's heatwave was unusual.

I find it appalling that's what is considered journalism today. Harper pulls so much shit and that's what people choose to report on. No wonder he won a majority.

It does get pretty hot, unfortunately. Fortunately it didn't happen the year before that, where we only had two, maybe three days of +30 weather before everything was cool again. <3

Heh, I definitely agree with you there. Frankly I'm ashamed of Canadians re-electing him. One of my co-workers keeps saying that Harper made Canada one of the few countries to make it through the economic crisis, but I say it's only because of all these irrational cuts, in addition to other countries simply doing a bad job independently of whatever's happening here. The only good thing Harper did was reduce the parliamentary term to four years, meaning we have one less year do deal with him. Heh.

Yeah, I'm ashamed of Canada too. I'm amazed by the sheer amount of apathy and ignorance in Canada. I swear they are only going to get dumber with Canada's version of Fox News. And Harper isn't even responsible for weathering us through the economic storm. The regulation done by the Liberals helped with that. If it were up to him, he probably would have gotten rid of them all.
